Textures allows images to be mapped to materials to create detailed effects such as wood grain, meshes tile as well as fine imperfections such as brushed metals. Textures are applied in the Material Properties properties tab under the Texture tab. Textures can be easily dragged and dropped from one mapping type to another.(e.g. bump > specular) Simply hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (OS X) and drag the texture.
